What do you add to your client's business?: Clarity, decisions and a sleep-at-night factor. I am successful when my clients feel that their financial position is clear, well-structured and “working better”. In our business, listening is vital - if you don´t listen well or understand your clients completely, you can´t advise properly (in my opinion!).
Star Sign: Scorpio. All the good bits! Determined and forceful; Emotional and intuitive; Powerful and passionate; Exciting and magnetic. There are of course no negative aspects to Scorpios!
Favourite Film: Hmm… a couple of firm favourites - City Slickers and Memphis Belle are right up there!
Most Embarrassing Moment: The whole story is pretty gruesome but in short, being on time for a meeting with a new client, waiting patiently in Reception for the client for 25 minutes until the horrible reality dawned on me that her office was actually in the next building!
Pastimes: Chasing after two young children, martial arts and a bit of (but not too much!) jogging.
Football Team: Arsenal, by marriage! My wife tells me I´m now a Gooner.
Why are you at Templar?: I set up Templar on 1st April 1996. We have since built a team of great Advisers and support staff to do what we enjoy most - giving great advice to generally great clients!
What's the best piece of advice you've been given, and by whom?: The one that stuck in my mind for the last 20 years: “Don´t expect and you will never be disappointed” - an old girlfriend who had a very ill mum at the time.
